My name is Lucas van den Heuvel, and I am a designer.

Since September 2023, I have been studying for a Bachelor of Applied Science called Creative Media and Game Technologies at Saxion University of Applied Sciences, because I am extremely interested in creating and designing games.
I hope to finish this study in June of 2027.
I have passed my first year with no insufficient grades and passed my propaedeutic year with all 60 ECs and an average grade of 8,0/10.
I have passed my second year as well with an average grade of 7,7/10.
Currently, I am in my third year, and have recently completed my
minor European Project Semester
with a focus on Gamification at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten in Austria as part of my studies.
We finished the project with a 9,3/10.
I will soon start my internship.
Ever since I played my first video game; New Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo DS, I knew that this was what I wanted to make when I grew up.
I never gave up this dream and am still holding on to it.
The One who inspires me most is God, the Creator of art, Who designed the entire universe with art from gigantic to minuscule.
This inspires me to design and create myself, and this inspiration can be found in my games, websites, paintings, and music.
Making a game is about creating a lively world, special characters, and getting color and lighting right.
I want to do this myself and especially focus on making stages and levels.
I created this website myself using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, so it immediately functions as a portfolio item.
I will use photos and screenshots to give a good impression of my interests, skills, and talents.
I also hope that it gives you an idea of my passion for art and Game Design.
I have hands-on experience building websites, including this portfolio site using HTML/CSS and www.wzzorg.nl using WordPress.
I have also experimented with creating and securing a database using PHP, XAMPP, and phpMyAdmin.
These projects have given me a strong understanding of web design, graphic design, user experience, and content management systems.
In addition to my technical skills, I have a growing interest in PR, marketing, and journalism, and I am proficient in MS Office, with a particular focus on improving my Excel skills to better analyze and manage digital content.
I am confident that my combination of web development expertise, creative mindset, and attention to detail would allow me to contribute effectively to online platforms.
With a foundation in both game development and web development, I am passionate about creating interactive experiences that inspire and connect people.
I'm eager to learn and adapt quickly.
I work hard and like to start a project well-prepared.
